OXFAM Australia will hold its annual Walk against Want this Sunday.
The walk, now in its 40th year, will help to fight poverty in underprivileged countries.
Over the years thousands of generous West Australians have taken part in the walk, helping to raise much needed funds for Oxfam Australia's development work around the world.
The six kilometre walk will start at Hall Park at 11am and participants will go around three bridges before finishing where they started.
Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch.
"The money that the people of Western Australia raise will go a long way," walk organiser Anne Batt said.
"Just twenty dollars will pay for seeds for planting for four East Timorese families; fifty dollars pays for Mozambican women living with HIV to undertake specialised sewing skills training; one hundred dollars can be used to start a vegetable garden to provide nutritious food for families in need in South Africa."
For more information on the walk, contact Anne Batt on 9262 8200 or 9581 7322.
