UNLV joins the ONE campaign against poverty

Solving the world's problems ONE at a time. Students at UNLV are joining forces in the global fight against poverty.

On Monday, the newly formed chapter of One at UNLV officially declared the university as a One Campus.

The ONE campaign works to fight global poverty and stop preventable diseases. Students will have an opportunity to do an internship in Africa.

African Internship Program

Eligibility Requirements:

1) Need to be registered as a student at one of the institutions that comprise the Nevada State Higher Education System

2) Active member of ONE Campus Chapter at their school

3) Responsible for earning at least 500 points for their respective ONE Campus Chapter

4) Eligibility time period is open between November 5, 2007 and March 31, 2008

Eligible Members will be determined by ONE Vote staff and will be asked to submit an essay on their involvement in ONE and why they want to volunteer to fight poverty on the ground in Africa. 750 word maximum. The essays will be judged by members of the ONE Nevada Ambassadors Committee.
