The National Insurance Institute soon will issue a report on the growing gap between low and high income families, according to Globes Business. Information on the report has been leaked by Ben Gurion president Prof. Avishai Braverman, who recently resigned his post to join the Labor party.

The document is to reveal that the number of poor families in Israelis is more than 400,000. The 2004 report showed there were 10,000 fewer families living in poverty. The number of individuals defined as poor is expected to reach more than 800,000.
