Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Switzerland and Germany have signed three agreements here worth some 39 billion CFA francs to help fight poverty in the West African country, official sources said. (about 500 CFA francs=1USD).
One of the accords worth 10 billion-CFA francs, signed with Switzerland Monday, is for the implementation of Poverty Reduction Strategic Framework, to support economic stability and decentralisation, over the next two years.
The two other agreements signed between Burkina Faso and Germany amounting to 29.846 billion CFA francs, is for budget support, and will also boost human rights and combat human trafficking and child labour.
Germany also promised to support Burkina Faso in the water, sanitation, agriculture and decentralisation sectors.
