THE Austrian government will this year spend over sh17b on the development of various sectors to eradicate extreme poverty in Uganda.
Franz Breitwieser, the head of the Austrian mission for development cooperation, said this on Saturday during an annual get-together for the Austrian scholarship programme at Horizont 3000 in Kampala.
"This support is part of the Austrian taxpayers money extended to Uganda and focuses on eradicating extreme poverty through developing skilled human resource," he said.
The Austrian government has been for the past few years spending an estimated sh17b on Uganda in various sectors like education, water and sanitation, private sector development, judicial reform and good governance and to improve the relationship between Uganda and Austria.
