Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednenday, addressing an election meeting in Perumbavoor said that the UDF would wipe out poverty and unemployment in Kerala,if voted back to power.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also said that the past five years of UDF rule in Kerala provided good governance and saved the state from near bankruptcy.
"If we have to eliminate poverty, unemployment and have to provide employment to all the youth, we want to see that no one in Kerala is destitute. It is essential that the focus of any government should be on rapid social and economic development in an equitable and just manner", Manmohan Singh said.
"We need to have excellent human resources, hard-working and sincere people to make Kerala the hub of industrialisation and economic activity in the future", Manmohan Singh said.
"Kerala is the state whose record on literacy and health is the best in the country. People from rest of India and all over the world would come to Kerala to study the success in these two areas in the future," Singh added.
