An anti-poverty group is planning to disrupt the provincial Tories’ annual general meeting in Halifax next week, a notice on its website says.
"We will be marching to (a local hotel) to tell the Conservatives what kind of . . . Nova Scotia we want — one with justice, dignity and freedom for all people," says a message on the website for the Halifax Coalition Against Poverty.
The group intends to rally at a Barrington Street church at 7 p.m. on Feb. 9 and then parade to the Conservatives’ meeting to hold a protest.
The website says the MacDonald government has harmed needy people and the disenfranchised in the province.
It says the coalition "is calling on all people and groups in Nova Scotia who are looking for real change in this province to join us in confronting the Conservatives on their poverty-imposing policies."
As India goes to the polls, can democracy deliver a better life for all of
its people?
